What We Offer

Barrie Baycats High Performance teams are offered at the 15U, 16U, 17 & 18U age groups. These teams compete in the Elite Baseball League of Ontario against other top-level teams within Baseball Ontario with a regular season of 16-20 games.

Barrie Minor Baseball is a not-for-profit organization, which enables us to offer players the opportunity to play baseball at the highest level at a substantially lower cost than private programs.

Most home games are played at Coates Stadium, home of the Barrie Baycats - seven-time Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) Champions.

The Barrie Baycats High Performance program includes exclusive apparel for our players (premium hoodie, t-shirt, long sleeved t-shirt, practice hat, shorts).

On The Field

• All High Performance teams will participate in Fall Ball with practices, games and tournaments.
• Teams will have the opportunity to compete in several tournaments throughout Canada and the United States with Showcases attached during the months of May-August.
• Barrie Baycats will have the opportunity to attend Spring Training in the United States.
• 15U and 18U will attend Eliminations for an opportunity to earn a spot representing Ontario at Nationals (Baseball Canada Championships).
• 16U and 17U will compete for the opportunity to be crowned Provincial Champions.

Off The Field

• Barrie Baycats have the privilege of conducting indoor workouts in their very own 14,400 sq/ft. indoor facility, The Warehouse. Teams will practice indoors in the off-season at minimum 2 times a week with opportunities for position-specific training.
• Additional self-directed training is available through membership at The Warehouse, exclusive to members of Barrie Minor Baseball.
• The High Performance program utilizes Rapsodo technology metrics to track results and provide goal setting for players.

Experienced Coaching

• All High Performance teams have dedicated coaching staff who have extensive experience. All coaches are NCCP certified. 
• Barrie Baycats work with a variety of instructors, from college coaches as well as current and former NCAA collegiate players and Intercounty Baseball League players.

College Placement

• Barrie Minor Baseball offers support for athletes who wish to pursue baseball at the University or College level within Canada or the United States.
• Barrie offers its own showcase for players to show off their skills every fall, hosted by PBR Ontario.
• Multiple players have been placed in Canada and the United States over our 5-year history.
